The DDA System calculates accrued interest in advance of weekends and other closed days. The Amount of Interest Accrued Today is calculated by taking the amount of accrued interest this processing and dividing it by the number of days in the processing period.  Any decimal positions over 2 are rounded off and that amount rounded off is added to the first day’s accrual.

For example:
If the amount of accrued interest for 5/07, 5/08, and 5/09 is $205.8294, that amount is divided by 3. Any amounts over the 2 decimals are rounded-off. The amount that was rounded off is then added to the first day’s accrual.

$205.82 / 3 = 68.6098

Accrued for 5/07 = $68.63

Accrued for 5/08 = $68.60

Accrued for 5/09 = $68.60

Total for period = $205.83

Activity and Totals for Health Savings Accounts (HSA) are displayed.

Interest-bearing DDA accounts that are tied to a Sweep are reported in the NOW account totals. Non-interest bearing DDA accounts that are tied to a Sweep are reported in the regular accounts totals.
