Type of Account Descriptions

As an option, you can assign a description to each Type of Account your bank uses.  Up to 18 descriptions of 11 characters each can be established.  Descriptions are generally used to distinguish between Types used for a similar purpose.  For example, you can distinguish your public fund Type Codes as:

PUB FND-NOW

PUB FND-MMDA

These descriptions will be included with the totals by Type on the DDA Bank Totals, Trial Balance, and Transaction Journal reports.  If a description is not established, the totals are still printed and are identified by Type (1-9, A-Z).  There are no default descriptions, so descriptions for Type Codes 1, 2 and 5 should be established if you want descriptions on reports for those.

Your Administrator can establish similar descriptions for each Type of Account that the bank is using.  The Type descriptions will appear as the drop-down selection for Type of Account on Demand Deposit New Account and Account Lookup.  A CSI-default description will be displayed for Personal, Business and Public Funds unless they override those descriptions with a bank-assigned description.
